Product Introduction
The M-Discover 200 Excellence Mass Spectrometry System is based on MALDI-TOF MS technology. By measuring microbial protein fingerprint spectra and matching them against a standard database, it delivers rapid and accurate identification. The system employs the high performance solid-state laser, high-voltage control, and a new-generation control board. In collaboration with authoritative institutions, it has a built-in database covering both clinical (bacteria, fungi, mycobacteria, filamentous fungi) and research (high-risk/rare CDC) microorganisms applications, with dedicated libraries for high-pathogenicity organisms such as Yersinia pestis, Vibrio cholerae, Bacillus anthracis, Salmonella typhi, and Brucella sp. Broadly applicable to clinical diagnostics, infectious disease control, food and animal inspection and quarantine, food safety and quality control, environmental testing, and biodefense.
Detection Principle
The system uses matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry. A prepared microbial sample is irradiated by a laser, generating a protein mass fingerprint spectrum; the spectrum is then processed and matched against a reference database for identification. Instrument hardware, high-voltage control, laser performance, and control-board design support the acquisition and processing of microbial spectra.
Intended Use
Used for rapid microbial identification in clinical microbiology and public-health laboratories and for selected food, industrial, agricultural, environmental and quarantine applications. The actual microorganism range depends on the configured database, sample preparation method, laboratory validation, etc.
